Researching Scarves Further

Whilst searching online i came across a competition site called Beta, This website offers emerging Artist/Designers to submit artwork for scarf designs. The winning entries will be sold through the website. It also hold an archive of past entries that you can view.  Below are a few that i liked.

Hummingbird Circle
Frankie Lilley

Cambridge
Ivano Tella

Laura
Ivano Tella

Queen Of Diamonds
Suzanne Washington

I also came across a website called Yaelle, which is a Uk based company who specialise in hand drawn, individual luxury silk scarves. Here are some examples below.

Hamsa Circle Silk Head Scarf
100% silk 65x65cm
£65

The Paris Square Silk Scarf
100% Silk 98x98cm
£145

Vintage Jewellery Silk Head Scarf
100% Silk 65x65cm
£65

Below are some of the advertisements that Yaelle have used in magazines such as Vogue.

These two scarves are by Hermes and are circus inspired. I really like the idea of the lilac one, i would like to try something like that with a carousel.

The image above demonstrates some scarves displayed in Selfridges. The ones on the left are by Givenchy, the middle Ted Baker and to the right Alexandra McQueen. I think the Ted Baker scarves are displayed badly, they don't compliment the design well and don't suggest to a customer to buy as it doesn't display how it could be worn or present it's self very good. However i do like how the others are displayed.

I also really like how on the image above on the furthest right taken form Harvey Nichols how the scarves are displayed on mannequins. They catch your eye, show the customer how they look as a product worn and also compliment and display the pattern printed on them very well.
